The key to good knitwear? Long-lasting, high-quality materials. There’s no such thing as a zero-impact sweater, so our aim is to create knits that will stand the test of time, and trends. Prioritizing cotton and other natural fibers and incorporating synthetics only when necessary, Callahan creates machine washable, cruelty-free knits that are easy to care for and will last season after season.
Cruelty Free
Using materials that contain no animal fibers, cruelty-free knits have been a priority since our beginning. We’re committed to designing cozy, elevated knits free from the use of wool, alpaca, mohair, or any other animal-derived materials.
Why Synthetics?
While we always seek to use natural materials, synthetics can help contribute to the comfort, longevity, and affordability of a style. Elastane to maintain stretch and shape, acrylic and polyester for a wool-like warmth while being cruelty-free, and nylon for light and breathable knits in warmer weather.

Shaker Knit
With its simple, substantial texture, the shaker stitch gives each piece a laid-back feel that still holds its shape. It strikes the perfect balance between structure and ease, making it our most-used knit.
Jersey Knit
A classic stitch that creates a smooth, flat surface with a soft, cozy feel. Known for its stretch and drape, jersey makes comfortable, breathable, and endlessly wearable styles feel effortless—whatever your day brings.
Ribbed Knit
We love a good ribbed knit—it adds texture and provides just the right amount of give. It stretches out but always bounces back, so your favorite pieces keep their shape over time.
